Default 94 VX with a 00 CX engine? HELP!!!

I just recently acquired a 94 Civic VX. It has a blown D15Z1 engine with VTEC-E. I have a spare D16Y7 engine (non-VTEC) from a 00 Civic CX lying around in my garage. I was wondering... If I stripped the D16Y7 engine, could I put that longblock into my 94 VX using all of the existing VX VTEC-E motor components? I would have to change the ECU for sure, but what other problems would I encounter?

Thanks HT!

Yes it will bolt in.

then you'd need a dx ecu and change from a 5 wire to a 4 wire o2 sensor.

What about everything else? Will I need to get new engine mounts? Will the header bolt up directly with the existing EG exhaust piping/cat? Also, the intake manifold on my CX motor is different from the VTEC-E motor. The throttle body is facing upwards, as opposed to the VTEC-E one, which is the normal left.

It will most likely work, but you will probably run into a few small issues that most wouldn't know about unless they have done this themsleves. I believe that the intak manifold on the y7 will be the biggest problem. I would suggest trying to use your stock one with all its attachments or just buy a bare z6 manifold if the stock one will be to resitrictve for the vx. If you weren't so far I would offer to buy that blown z1 off of you.

Everything should bolt up if you are only using the y7 long block.
You should use everything else from the z1. Intake manifold exhaust manifod, distirbutor, alternator, etc, etc.

I'm hoping that it's gonna be that easy, but I was wondering if anyone has ever done this swap so I can see if there's any other things I need to know beforehand.

You should be able to do it, but like someone said earlier, you should talk to someone who has actually done this particular swap. I didnt think of that intake manifold problem. Maybe you should find out if the Z1 intake manifold will bolt up directly to the Y7 motor.
