ok, ive made a couple post lately about my motor occasasionally running like crap... thinking the problem may of been my valve springs binding. well i had it running perfect for like 2 days, boosting occasionally. well i came to work today and the motor was ticking again by the time i got to work, so i was like damn.... ill check it at lunch. so lunch rolled around, i went to crank the car up and it started perfectly but the ticking was still there, so i pop the hood and listen and it sounds like it may be coming from cylinder 1 injector, or the valves (didnt have a screw driver to the the anceint indian test). so anyways, i go to grab some tools to take the valve cover off real quick, and the ticking had stopped... so im like cool. so i go to drive it and boost a lil bit, and it drives fine, no ticking 20hg's vacuum, 60psi oil pressure at 3000rpm, perfect temp, etc. so i get to where im going, park go back out to the car, starts up fine runs fine.... go to leave hit like 3lbs of boost and it starts to run on 3 cylinders, so its buckin, and dieing when i come to stop and all that good stuff, well i didnt look back quick enough, but one of the times i had to crank it back up i saw a lil smoke... i am 99.9% sure it wasnt blue smoke though. so right now with the problem being so erratic with its occurance, i am really stumped. im hoping for the best (bad injector) but expecting the worse (valve or valve train). oh yes, when it was running it kinda sounded like an oozie, and the vacume gauge was flipping out, it would jerk to all different vacuum readings instead of smoothly going from 20hgs to 0.

Most of the dual and triple springs used in domestics are interference sets. Both springs are moving the same distance,in the same direction at the same speed.I just don't see this as a possible problem. My money is on an injector.

well, i found the problem... yeah, it stopped ticking... until on the way home when it started back and then i heard the valve break and fall into the cylinder.... so much for being the injector. i guess i can thank precision automotive for the kick *** machining and assembly work they did to get me here.

That sucks man. Did you figure out what cuased it? Did the valve spring or retainers break causing the valve to hit the piston??
