Default OBD1 conversion in a 99 civic si

i have a 99 civic si, and i bought skunk 2's obd2-obd1 conv. harness. and i bought a chipped p28 ecu. and everythig works like it should, the redline changes, the air/fuel curves r there, the only thing, is that v-tec wont engage at all anymore??? any ideas???

Does it work with your old ecu? If yes then the new one is not working
correct.

see what the vtec engagment is on the chipped p28. maybe its at a higher rpm and you really cant hear it. try getting another chip with the vtec at 5200 and see if vtec works with that

its not the harness thats the problem, i think its the ecu, is there anouther way to find out for sure tho?

get a buddy's ECU that you know works and see if your vtec kicks in, if you don't know what it sounds like you can always hook up a small LED to the fuse that goes to the solenoid and it will be a simple test...
