Default **HELP!! just put my d16a6 together, timing is right, still runs rough as hell!!!***

i dont get it, my cam gear is dead nuts on, the crank is dead nuts on, and it still runs pretty rough...just put a new (new to me) head on it, and it needs to run good TONIGHT!!!! HEEEEELLLPPP!!!!!
any suggestions welcome......

check your valve clearaces if its to tight it will expletive things up
better loose than to tight

Did you line up the cam on the marks on the side or this mark:



The correct timing for the 90-91 a6 or maybe all of them is that red line and mark I circled

I never check valve clearance on that head so you should probably give it a good adjustment...but my motor ran pretty strong before my swap

all the timing marks are lining up pretty good, and when i adjust the dist. it just dies...and i havent the slightest of clues how to check valve clearances...i've got the haynes manual and all...but valvetrain work is a little beyond me

well, ive got it at least running now...but now the exhaust is blowin white smoke like cheech and chong are somewhere in my exhaust havin a big ole' time...brakes are failing for some stupid reason too...oil and coolant are both brand new, full, and clean as a whistle..i dono wtf is wrong with this damned thing...


any ideas??
