Default GM 3 bar map sesnor neccesary?

I bought a gm 3bar map because I was told many many times the stock map sensors break beyond 11psi. Was I fooled? I see people using ti and I see people getting away without it, whats the deal?

the stock map will only read "so Ive heard around 12 pounds", but Ive ran up to 16 pounds on my old car with added fuel pressure. The stock map will only read so far. You can run 20 psi if you want to, but once the map sensor reads about 12 psi it only gives fuel for 12 psi, see what Im saying. A bigger map sensor indeed is the way to go trust me.
