hey everyone , can anyone shed some light. On hot days my 91 accond has problems starting up right away, i ll turn the key and it turns over but won't catch, so what i have to do is wait 10 mins then it will start with no problems, only on hot days. Why is that?

Yup. Preludes of the same years had the exact same problem

 

yeah more than likely its the relay. had mine resolider a year ago and hasn't do it again since then. the honda shop that did it for me said its better to just resolider it because putting on a new one will do the same after a while and it cost more. solider was cheaper.

 

I took mine out, after experiencing the same symptoms you describe.

There were only two obviously broken (cracked around the bottom) connections, but 90% of the connections were super skimpy on the solder, and generally looked bad...cheap factory manufacturing...so I stripped and re-soldered ALL of the connections. Just because I could.

If you can, do it yourself. Replacing it is, very probably, a total waste of money. And paying someone to solder would really suck. Hope you have soldering tools.
