No, i didnt do any thing. The thing is that car drives fine with ex ecu (redline at 7 thow) but i need more rpm's. any advice?

JESUS... dont drive your car anymore.. the EX ecu is not good at on the motor.. Timing tables are completely different along with the fueling tables.

What are you talking about?
A JDM Type R ECU is probably going to have an OBD2A plug on it, but here's a newsflash for you - it won't communicate with OBD2 scanning equipment, and it doesn't even read for a secondary oxygen sensor! It's like an OBD2A plug ECU, but with an OBD1 program.
I used to run a 96-spec JDM P73 ITR ECU on my old B18C5 swapped 1992 Si hatch and it didn't even throw any OBD2 related CELs such as second o2 or evap crap - and my car had no 2nd o2 sensor nor evap canister at all!
In this specific situation one can only assume the P73 ECU is fuxored seeing as how the car won't drive with it plugged in.
I guess getting your money back in not an option?

Who said anything about obd2B?
From what I have read, all JDM itrs are obd2A(at least the ecu plugs are).
*edit- nevermind, somebody beat me to it.

Ok, i see. I didn't give enough info. I have Obd2b wiring on my b18c5 motor. i guess i won't be driving it on my ex ecu. Ill try to get a obd2b to a obd2a harnnes if thats posible. And till i do that can i run my friends obd1 prelude h22 ecu with obd2b harnes on my 97 hatch with b18c5? Or will i just be better off getting a civic si ecu? Thanxs for all your help people.
- So what do i need to get my type-r obd2a to run on my obd2b? Or what will be my best option?

Your problem is not the ecu, then.
You cannot use an obd2B wiring harness in your obd2A car. All the ecu pins are in different locations. I have had the displeasure of repinning obd2B to obd2A and every pin, but one had to be moved.
Your only solution is, you need an obd2A engine harness. Once you do that, your jdm ITR ecu will work fine.
You cannot fix the problem with any jumper harnesses. You HAVE to use an OBD2A engine harness.

Woah, wait a minute.
I just reread up at the top. You say that the car runs and drives on a ex ecu? What year is the ecu?
If your car is obd2A and the engine harness is obd2B, it shouldnt run with any ecu. You see, at the ecu you have 3 plugs. Two coming from the engine harness and one coming from your cabin harness.
So if you use an B engine harness in your A car, the two plugs from engine harness will be obd2B while the single plug coming from your cabin harness is still obd2A.
Since the pinouts on obd2A and obd2B are different, no matter what ecu or jumper harness you plug in, some of the pinouts would be in the wrong location.
Plus the fact that if you are indeed running an obd2B harness, you wouldnt even be able to plug in the obd2A ecu.
Something is not right here...

Lol, yeah once again not enough info. Its a 97 hatch with all 00 civic si wiring and dash and soo on. so its all obd2b. And what i forgot to say is that i had a GSR motor in there. And today i just got the b18c5 motor in and running, but now for some reason the Vtec is not working. (im using same wiring i had on gsr obd2b from 00 civic si) And still on my ex ecu. When i had gsr motor in vtec was woring fine, but now nothing. I thought it was in the vtec sensor, so i changed it from the gsr and still its not working... So i don't know what to do now
do you have any idias what might be going on?
(ex ecu is from my 2 door 00 civic ex)
