2000 Si Cruise control Problem
My cruise has been out for a few months now, and I've been doing alot more highway driving lately and I'm really starting to miss is. What do I have to test to see where my problem is? Everything looks fine visually. Vaccume line is good, wiring isn't cut up at all, throttle cable moves freelyif I pull on it.
When I press the button under the ac vent, and bring the car up to speed press and release the steering wheel button No green c.c. light comes up in the cluster anymore as well as no cruise.
Is there any diagrams of the cruise control system I can see on line?
Anyhelp will be greatly appreaciated
Thanks

it's a good chance that your clutch stop has fallen out. Check the buton up in front of your clutch lever and you will see what im talking about. The stop will fall out and not press in the buton, thus CC does not work. Replace the stop with a similar screw, or buy a new stopper.
Dave, I had the same problem, thers a very very good chance it is the stopper on th clutch lever that has fallen out, and the button for the clutch is not being pressed in. You have to look under the dash in front of the clutch lever and you will see what im talking about. Trust me I fixed mine last week. Insert a screw the same size into the whole that is missing the stopper, and thus cruise fixed.
Fantastic! Turns out thats what it was. From what I saw it looked like the button you mentioned wasn't being depressed enough when the clutch pedal was released. All I did was extend the the clutch pedal stopper so that the button is depressed fully when the clutch is released.
What exactly is that button for? Couldn't I just put a zip tie or something around it so it stays "pressed" in all the time?
