Our 2004 EX V6 4-door Accord slowly rolled into the rear-mounted spare tire of a Jeep, which slightly creased the hood and left fender. One body shop estimate is for $1,500(replace hood with non-Honda part and patch fender). The car is otherwise clean. The Honda dealer gave me an $850 estimate to patch the hood and the fender. The dealer said the hood crease is in the "crumple" zone and that the patch will not affect the hood's ability to crumple in the future.

Any thoughts on fixing vs replacing parts? With non-Honda parts? I'm told Honda parts will cost $500 more.
