I need help. I just bought a 1997 Lude and dont know too much about it yet. Its an auto and when I first start driving the car will go through neutral when shifting. After driving for a few minutes it usually stops. I just had the tranny rebuilt but that didnt fix it. What else could be causing this problem??

 

get a tranny swap w/ LSD...

auto tranny in a lude is bad news as far as ive heard...

 

Dont give the guy ideas without all the details... you cant just get a manual tranny and slap it in, theres more involved **** there you need the pedals + ECU and shift linkage.. It sounds like your auto box is going to ****.. either swap it out or do the manual conversion.

 

ok I drove the car for a while today and after about 10 mins of driving, the problem completely stops. I have a friend with an accord and his does the same thing...is it something that happens often? I have had no problems since early this morning

His tranny just got rebuilt.. literally just rebuilt
