Default I need some help....

I just recently bought a 97 Lude auto w/SS. whenever I step on it, there is a great deal of hesitation. it kinda feels like the tranny it's slipping because it takes a few seconds to get into gear. it happens when I'm going from a dead stop AND when I'm already driving. the person that had the car before me told me that the tranny needed to be flushed. I took the car to my local Honda dealership & they told me that a tranny would never need to be flushed. almost like they had never heard of such a thing.... so... I replaced the spark plugs & wires thinking THAT could be the problem, but it wasn't. does anyone know what it could be?????

I don't know the details as I own a 4th gen, but a manual tranny swap would be the best way to go if you want a new tranny

you blew your tranny, or not your tranny is fucked i konw cuz on my moms lude hers is auto mine is stick and i used to drive hers when i din'dt have mine and using hte SS it put too much pressure on the auto cuz i drove the car hard d/s on turns and all and then during a dead stop and gunning it or normal driving the clutch of the auto woudln't grab the gear as it seemed like we had warranty and when we took it they replaced the WHOLE tranny. and the 2nd time same **** happened so my dad went telling them off and they replaced it again and ever since the 2nd one no problems but i had my stick one hwen the problems happened which was in my moms hands. thats why i bought an SH for myself

These trannies are junk, this tranny is one of hondas major blunders. Since it sounds as though the cost of a new tranny is coming out of your pocket, either sell it or for a little more than a 'new' auto tranny just do the auto to manaul conversion.

i dont htink they are junk, its just the way you drive the car and especialy auto isn't meant to be driven all that hard in the SS. its just for normal shifting not d/s and puttin pressure on it. also i dotn recommend a manual swap because it can give u some problems in the future. i hevae heard that to be true.

the SS (sport shift auto trans) tranny IS junk. they fail all the time no matter how you drive. It's just a nadir of honda design. your options are to replace the tranny at no small cost with another p.o.s. SS tranny or get yourself a 5spd, because it does sound like your trans is about to go kaput.

5speed swaps aren't cheap but depending on how long you want to keep the car it's cheaper than replacing the auto trans twice or 3 times even.

driving a stick is easy. i don't understand why people think they can't do it.

unfortunately not...well any 4th gen Auto tranny will bolt up...but I don't know how the control of it works Anyone?

But this is like an H23 tranny your car will not be as fast.

You cannot use the 4th gen auto tranny, The Auto tranny controllers have different programs due the 'sport shift' feature, and the ECU does not recognize the Auto tranny controller.
