U need to tap into stock harness and use the adpater.. It's not very difficult at all but it takes time...

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-K...7OEM2

I belive you will need two of those...

Imo, I dont think it's worth it, I know type-S has nice head unit but it's nothing compared to this Alpine Unit..

http://www.alpine-usa.com/en/p...-9857

So I think it's better you go with aftermarket head unit save you time and all the hassles cutting and stripping wires.. It might even save you some bucks because if you get the adpaters they're $30 each and you'll need two so it's $60 plus if you have some shop installed it they'll charge you somewhere around $150 so thats already $210... The headunit I belive is only $350 at bestbuy plus you can turn around and sell your stock unit for good $100-$150... just do the math and you'll understand what I'm trying to get at....

Also, you might want to consider upgrading your speakers If you haven't thought to do so already.. Sure type-S comes with Bose speakers, but like any other stokies they're crap...

If you have anymore questions, pm me and I'll forward them to my friend who also drives a Type-S and does all the audio work himself...

you can use the the base rsx change holder thingie to fill the gap. It will fit right under the aftermarket radio.

well if you use this kit from crutchfield

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-S...97867

you'll have the pocket where you can store your CDs or watever..

The reason I recommend Alipine CDA 9857 is because it has everything packaged into one low priced unit..

-IPOD direct connect
-plays MP3s
-Bluetooth Capable
-Satellite Radio
-HD Radio
-Auxilary Input
-Bio-Lite Display

I'll take the pictures of my friend's type-S with this unit and post it up....

Just remember, whatever you do is totally up to you... I just make suggestions as I'd like to help out fellow type-S owner....

got answers for you. its not really that hard. im installer at circuit city and i installed my system in my car. i highly recomend going with an aftermarket stereo. i would go with and eclipse or alpine. it doesnt look that bad with an aftermarket kit and all you have to do is buy the wire harness for your car. well if you have any questions you can email me i think i would be the most help since thats my job and have done it to my own car. good luck

If you want to utilize your factory head unit I recommend purchasing a Hi-Level converter. I will turn you speaker outputs on the deck to an RCA so you can run you amp. If you have any other car audio questions I will be happy to help. Just PM me or hit me on AIM.
