B18C5's are meant for N/A and B18C1 is suitable for boost (turbo).....just look at the compressions of the two engines and you can tell what would be better.

There are some ppl who have boosted a B18C5 (just lower ur compression) etc.....I myself have a B18C5 and want to boost it, but its personal preference, also the money involved in any swap.

Hopefully this will start you up.

The B18C5 is a better stock engine than the C1. If you are new to Hondas or have never driven a car with a decent amount of HP ie:200 than you should start out with a stock engine swap and work your way from there gradually adding power. Everyone I know that has gone from a stock D-series to a fully built boosted B-series has crashed into a tree or sold the car because they couldn't get use to the feeling of driving it. (Yes 2 of my friends have done this. One hit a tree in his boosted hatch and the other boosted his GSR the week after he bought it then sold it because he couldn't get used to driving it. The second owner of the Integra hit a tree with it. It was his first car)

A lot of misinformation seems to always pop up when this question is asked. Do your research, determine what your goals are, recognize and understand what tuning options are available to you.
People are saying that the ITR motor was never supposed to be boosted, well neither was the GSR, LS, or any of the D series motors, but there are plenty of people who have done it, and continue to do so, successfully.
Again, do your research, save yourself alot of money, and alot of headaches.
