Half a qt burnt after 30 miles after rebuild on lsvtec.
Lsvtec
B18a, pr3 pistons new rings
gsr head, type r cams and springs, new exhaust valve stem seals, did not touch intake side.
cyl. 4 200psi wet plug
cyl. 3 190psi dry
cyl. 2 195psi dry
cyl. 1 190psi dry
49 miles after rebuild, at 30 had to add a half qt of oil. Leak down test will be done on thursaday. At idle blue smoke puffs, press on gas big cloud of smoke as well as while driving. Any help would be appreciated thanx everyone.

well i think your half seal approach may have been it ... unfortuneatly i dont think there is a way to help you ... aside from just taking it all apart and making sure everything is clean and within tolerance ... maybe those seals are smoked or the new ones were not installed correctly your compression seems mostly healthy except that high cylinder ... so my guess is its in the head was the cross hatching on the block intact or did you hone it ??
I'm assuming you checked that the piston-wall clearance was within tolerances, and that you honed it out with the typical 60 degree crosshatching, despite the walls 'looking like new' beforehand. All that along with the break-in method supported on these boards (few WOT pulls in a specific squence).
There's also the fact that it could just be a leak somewhere, and that the rings are taking a good while to seat well. If they haven't seated, they will allow blow-by and oil loss.
