B20B leaking and buring a lot of oil PLEASE HELP!
Hey my block was recently rebuilt low compression for boost retaining stock bore with new piston rods bearings and blue print nad balance rotating assembly, and the head has a full valve job done with new valve seals and a various tests to see if the head was leaking or cracked too. I have a cometic .0040 and arp head studs. I did a compression check and it was exactly 160 across the board. I decided to take off the header and turn on the car and it was leaking oil out of the exhaust ports itself, heavily from cylinder 4 and a little from 2. I drove a couple of miles and burned like 2 quarts of oil. The car smokes a lottttt. I dont know what is wrong. PLease if anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated.

it would show it being the rings with a compression test. the compressioln test was perfect! so i beleve rings would be eliminated?

If your leakdown tests are ok, make sure your PCV system is working right. I had awful blowby and leaks from too much crankcase pressure. It couldn't be vented from the block. I added a Endyn catch can system (using the two plugs in the rear of the block, and eliminating the oil seperator box). No more burning oil, and no more leaks!

first off you need a compressor, set the leakdown tester to 100 psi. than remove the spark plug of #1 cyl or the cylinder your using. next you need to set the piston on TDC(top dead center) and make sure it is in the compression stroke not the exhaust stroke. next you release the air into the combustion chamber and if you did it right. it should tell you how much lekage there is in the cylinder. if you did it wrong it will push the piston down or it will leak out of the exhaust because the piston was not in the compression stroke.
once you see how much leakage you have remove the oil dipstick and the radiator cap so if you see bubles or hear a hising sound its either leaking from your headgasket or piston rings, or valve seals. good luck and let us know your results.

thanks for your help bro. I winded up taking to the machine shop and told me few various test to do. They told me to pour mineral spirits in #1 at TDC up the spark plug hole and within an hour check to see if its seeped down or it stayed. I winded up seeping down in 10 min! That show the bottom end is messed up somewhere near the rings or some such. I'll keep u updated with what the machine shop says. also i remember upon assembling the motor I didnt have to gap the rings.
