Speaker opinions
Thinkin of changin up my speakers, unhappy with the current ones. I'd be running these off a infinity 7541a 4x111 rms amp so i was hoping for some input. Total cost would be about 450 for the set

Ick.... Ick....Ick..... I think you can do better for that price range dont know whats in your area but you might try http://www.onlinecarstereo.com.
I bought these http://www.onlinecarstereo.com...15122 and was impressed with the sound. Previously had a set of Image dynamics CXS62. IMO the Clif Designs sounded WAY better and better value as well.

they sell clif designs at xs cargo all the time, for like 20 for a sub and other deals, i'd rather not go with those seeing as they are basically for sale at the equivalent of byway

Dont know what byway is but jbl's can be bought at my local flea market so I dont know what your point was. And every manufacturer has a crap line.
90% of high end speakers is all about marketing. Take a set of MB Quartz speakers in the $400 price range. They sound like crap and the build quality sucks.
I bought those Image dynamics speakers based on a recommendation from someone on here. IMO they suck for what you pay.
Paid a decent price for the Clif Designs. I wasn't expecting much, but the build quality was excellent. They sounded excellent also.
Whatever you choose go listen to a set. Let your ears and eyes decide.

I'd suggest checking out diamond audio, a very high quality brand imo.
Check out models D661S and D392I. A bit more than you budget retail but smokes most stuff I've heard in a similar price range.

What are you looking for in the sound? I notice you're planning to run both front and rear speakers. Most people who are serious about car audio only run front speakers. You could eliminate your rear speakers and put the money into a nicer set of fronts.
If you do this, usually you need a sub to make up for the lack of bass from the doors. However, I just installed a pair of Elemental Designs 6500s in my doors (powered with 140w each) and they f'cking knock. I'm running them without a sub and I seriously could keep it this way. You just need to have a way to turn down the midrange. Check them out:

You could bridge your amp and provide even more power than I'm sending to mine.

Well, i've gone the no rear speaker route for a while, and i just like the fill rear speakers give, preference i suppose, the amp is 4x139 @2 ohms, so i could run two pretty good sets of speakers, Cash isn't really the problem, i've just switched my **** so much, i want a permanent solution. I'd like a set of components now tho as all i've had in the past were coax. I like my music loud as hell, and my bass to hit rediculous, so i need lots of high's to balance it out. The 450was just to see how prices were, ps the prices are canadian dollars btw

what is your current setup? I'm constantly hearing about the edesign audio stuff, where do i get it? I'm in canada so i need something i can get here. Right now as it stands, i have jl vr 6.5's in the doors, 6x9 disconected in trunk and 2 12" pioneer, for amps i have a jl500/1 and a infinity 7541a i think it is. Either way i have enough power for anything i really need, so it's just a matter of getting it all right at the same time. I've had all infinity speakers before, low end, and i got tired of them now i'm tired of what i have now. I wanna be able to go deaf almost instantly if my **** is turned up

Typo? Cause there is no real way to utilize all 4 channels @ 2 ohms to 4 speakers. Ie in a 4 speaker system you'd be giving each speaker/speaker set roughly half of that.

i'm confused as to what u mean, the amp is 4x111 @ 4 ohm or 4x139@ 2 ohm, i could get all kappa **** and run it at 2 ohms, so i don't get what the point is, please clarify, cuz i'm sure you're right i'm just stubborn

You can not run four 4 ohm speakers individually to the amplifier and expect a 2 ohm load. I am sure this is what he meant to say.
They do however make 2 ohm speakers. Image dynamics comes to mind, but as I said earlier expect to be disapointed.

I think you're more interested in the bridged 2-channel @ 4 ohm power than the 4x2 ohm power. If you're just running front speakers you can bridge the amp to get more cone control and warmer sound.
There is an Elemental Designs sponsored forum on Icixsound.com. It's pretty cool because a lot of questions are answered by the eD techs themselves. However it is basically a fan club, so you won't find much in the way of negative reviews. Edit: All eD products are sold factory direct on edesignaudio.com. The Canada question has been covered on their forum.
My current setup is Eclipse 5425 deck --> Kicker 30-band EQ --> Eclipse amp 140W bridged --> Elemental Designs 6500 components.
Edit: Again, if you buy these speakers without being able to listen to them first, I advise you have enough equalization ability (either in your head unit via a 7-band eq, an in-dash eq or a trunk eq) to tune down the mids, especially around 2-2.5khz to get rid of a huge peak here. If you turn down the "mid" adjustment on a 3-band deck it will probably take care of it. If you leave it uneqalized, it will kind of sound like a telephone in the upper voice range.
Also, you have to make lift rings to fit them in your doors as they are over 2.5" deep.
Aside from that, these speakers are just excellent. The midbass is incredible and the tweeters are smooth and laid back.
