Default ebrake cables question....QUICK!!!!

alright, ive had a problem with the ebrake since i bought the car. The car is from michigan and there's lots of rust on it......for background info..lol.....

When i pull the ebrake, it'll lock the drivers back wheel, but not the passengers back wheel.

Ive taken out the console, and looked into it, but the cable wont pull at all..it's like it's jammed or something. I opened the rear drum, and when i pull the handle...it does NOTHING.....

Is there some kinda common problematic situation under the car at the cable somewhere.....

I also applied PB blaster penetrasting oil to both ends of the cable. both ends of the cable move freely RIGHT AT THE END, but not further into the cable...

Sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance for responses to be posted!

(also, isnt the slack in the drum brake controlled by me using the ebrake every once in a while...???)

usually it splits to a Y, it's possible that one end is broken... Though u said when u pulled the handle on the drum it didn't lock?

THa'td lead somebody to believe that the drumb is fucked up, take it apart, see why it's ot working, and if worse comes to worse, replace it..

i opened the drum. With the cable disconnected, comletely apart from the drum, the cable still does nothing...so it's not the drum, it's the cable or something. I dont believe there is a y-connection, becasue the cables connect onto the ebrake handle as 2 seperate wires......so they are individual wires ran from the drum to the handle....

yeah, it connected to the drum and everyhitng before i took it apart to look at it...lol, it still does after i put it back together too...lol, but anyways, yes it was fully connected on both ends. i tried pulling on the cable or pushing the cable back into the sheathing at the end where the drum is connected, and it didnt move. and the same with the ebrake end. to no avail......im out of ideas

maybe due to the rain and rust the cable is rusted solid. In winter my pass. side rear locks up because the cable freezes when the snow melts, then freezes.

where would you say it's rusting......casue then i can put some stuff in there to get rid of the lock up, and then i can seal it up myself a "homemade" way....

they are drums, but yes, i have checked the connections........EVERYTHING is connected properly..jsut as the other side....and it works properly on the other side....so what else coudl it be???? any ideas?, im thinking that maybe the cable is rusted together.....and where could it rust...becasue at the handle, it's fine..and i think at the drum it's fine, ut as i stated, it's not really moving in the shielding.......is there any "normal" spots where it could tend to rust....????
