1.) you're not a trial member so you can post in whatever forum you want.
2.) a "short ram" air intake gives better throttle response and a little power gain at the top of the powerband whereas a "cold air" intake strengthens torque delivery across the whole thing. I'd go with the latter.

well it really depends on where the filter is located not so much how long the pipe is. the difference would most likely be minimal between a short and cold air type intake but a cold air intake would be best ("longer pipe" placing the filter in the fender well, outside the engine bay where it can draw in cooler air.)

Perhaps you should have specified "archived content" and "92-200 Civic" forum before typing "intake" if you really wanted to get the results you were after.
It comes down to this: the engine you have won't gain anything incredible by adding either one of these parts. It'll be louder, but that's about it. If you really want to pull performance out of this powerplant, you want to turbocharge it.

Pretty good description there...but ur torqe nor hp will go up by leaps and bounds if u install a CAI...barely noticable difference...especially on smaller engines (D series and such)
But hey, ur call
PS:
If you live in an area where it rains a lot go with a short ram....if u go with a CAI and hit a puddle and water goes up the CAI it'll get sucked into ur engine, ur engine will hydrolock, ur block will split, and that'll be the end of that engine...
