Default idle gets funny with a/c on? whats the matter with it?

Okay i have a del Sol with a z6. Completly stock. Idles fine. But then I turn the A/C on and it starts rattling the car. The shifter goes crazy vibrating and you can just feel the idle thoughout the whole car. I changed all the regular tune up parts. Whats wrong with this thing, I even messed with the idle adjustment screw with the air on to see if it was too low or something, no dice. Help me please, cause in this hot weather it seems like its getting worse. Its starting to die when the coolant fan kicks on because the rpms drop just for that second too low. Help me!!!

I thought that too, I checked it, overflow was empty but the radiator was full, so i just topped off the level too, also checked the oil level too.

I have this problem too, amoung others. We should keep in touch about this, I want to solve it too.

Could you list all of the "regular tune up parts" you replaced?
Just so we know exactly whats new, and how long ago they were replaced?

The regular tune parts that i mentioned before would be :
cap
plugs
wires
rotor
air filter

as far as overcharging the a/c, that is a good possibility, because when I first charged the system it was low in pressure so i figured i would just use a suicide can untill it kicked on, i used two and then another half and nothing. then i found out that it was a fuse that was burnt out later another day. I didnt have the little key for the fuses. do you think if i just hold a screw driver on the low side and vent some of the pressure it will stop this problem?

Were the cap, rotor, and wires OEM or something else?

Your AC Compressor is seizing. I was not aware that the AC system was a maintenance item myself. One is supposed to have the system evacuated at around 100/K miles and have the refigerant AND lubricant replaced. I failed to do this and the system failed at 130/K. I remember my wife mentioning that my "wonderful Honda" (she is jealous) was idling pretty rough a few months before the compressor failed. I recently test drove a civic and when the salesman and I first started out we were sitting at a stop sign and I put the AC on to check. The car started to idle really rough. I said the compressor is failing on this car. Within two miles the belt started squeeling like a stuck pig. I shut off the AC and all was quiet. Don't know if you can save it at this point, but if its not squeeling the belts it hasn't completely seized yet. If you have 100/K or more on that compressor and never had the system evacuated and serviced, this is probably your culprit. You can try having that done at a Honda dealer who has the equipment to properly evacuate the system and get all of the old PAG oil and refrigerant out of there and install fresh. I think its $99, but check with your local shop.
