just did a compression and leakdown

Default just did a compression and leakdown

compression: 1=185 2=169 3=179 4=199

leak down : 1=240 2=240 3=255 4=260
needs new rings right?

no dude your rings are fine...consistency(spelling) if you had 180 in 3 cylinders and 90 in another....time for new rings

doesn't sound to bad to me, recheck, make sure you crank over = times and be at WOT

then try the oil drop

i thought that putting oil in the cyl. then doing a compression test was a leakdown...
so i guess the numbers that i posted are befor and after putting oil in the cyl.

nope, leak down is when you pressurize the cylinders. Sounds like you have ring problem with the numbers coming up that much with oil in cylinders.

not always, don't do **** without a leakdown test.

compression tests are pretty much worthless... they will only show one of two things:

A) The cylinder is bad for sure.
B) The cylinder could be bad maybe.

so do a leakdown test!
