Default Tuning Question

i have a B18c in my del sol and im trying to get it tuned... this guy matt shu does tuning in my area and he said hed street tune it for 100 bucks but he said i need a chipped ecu... i looked on j-k-tuning.com and phearable.net... i send it for around 100 bucks but phearable.net says that u tell them what u have on ur car and they set up the ecu so does it even need 2 be tuned? or is the ecu that phearable.net does actually tuned already?

stock motors dont need tuned-even with boltons
the computer from those places have programs on them. nontunable
you need something that can edit. look into crome, hondata etc.

if you send your ecu to phearable.net they set it up with crome so it can easily be tuned.

Bought a p28 from phearable.net chipped. I have a b16 i/h/e, man i noticed a HUGE difference in midrange power. I didn't move my vtec engaugement(5500) and I moved my rev to 8500. Well worth it imo.

Raise your vtec to stock. That is wayyy to low. Rev to 8500 or leave it at 8200. That doesnt really matter, just get that vtec raised!!!1

Stock with butterflies is at 4400 and butterflies open at 5400. If your running a non butterflied manifold you would want the vtec at 5400 for better responce.

A basemap is only good enough to get you to a dyno with wideband or a wideband for street tune. If you dont know what your doing you could easily destroy a motor. If the motors stock the most youll get out of tuning is probably 10whp. If you street tune you wont know what your making and if you made 1whp better youll probably think its the greatest. The tuning really depends on what you want out of the car. I would street tune only for mpg. Dyno shows what power your making.

I answered that in my last post. It all depends on what intake manifold your running.

Yes its stock. You shouldnt do anything to it unless your going to build or atleast put cams in there.
