Default d16z6 obd0-obd1 questions

Right now i have a sohc vtec in my 88 hf running off a stock pr3
my vtec is working and i have no codes
i am getting a p28 ecu and obd0-obd1 conversion harness
few questios

Do i need to return my wiring back to stock?

Can i keep my obd0 distributor?

Will the p28 ecu throw a code for vss?

If so, how can i fix it?

Which o2 sensor should i use? (i have a single wire o2 right now)

Is there anything else i need?

thanks for the help

you need and obd1 distributor. (td-42u I think)

the ecu won't throw a code for vss.

you will need a 4 wire 02 sensor.

and I don't know what wiring changes you have done to your car, just follow the instructions on the conversion harness you'll figure it out.

Fudge, Iono why it did, but it only did while braking in gear or some **** like that...I couldn't figure out when and what would cause the cel to come on to a certainty.

As my name would suggest, I have a '91 Si hatch with an OBD converted Z6. I'm using a P28 with the stock VSS and my speedometer works just fine.

You'll need to return your wiring to stock in order to run a conversion harness.

For a Cali legal OBD swap you'll need...
Conversion harness
OBDI Distributor
4-wire O2 sensor
OBDI injectors with grey clips
P28 ECU

Yeah, your cable VSS will work. If mine works, yours will work.

Get your conversion harness from RyWire.com...they used to be the JKOBD.com conversion harnesses. All the instructions you need come with it. Mostly plug and play with a small amount of wiring on your part. The harness comes with a subharness to put through the firewall for the O2, VTEC, and other various sensors. I taped off the wires I didn't need and soldered some spare two and four prong plugs onto the end of it after putting it through the fire wall and then made my own RyWire-like VTEC/O2 subharness.
