..........?

Depends on whether it's a factory amplified system or not. If not I'd use the rear speaker leads (ie non crossed over). If it is factory amplified try and find a full range signal, but if you can't then use the factory sub leads.

Used the factory sub leads on my buddies 99 TL and it worked just fine

*edit* scratch that, I misread. I must say that I don't get it though, maybe it's just been a long day

And you misread, noob... He asked about where to connect the remote wire on a stock head unit.

Well, to answer your question, usually, you would use the switched power lead in the radio harness. But since that car does not have a switched power lead (like most newer GM's), you need to tap switched power somewhere else. Check the fusebox; there may be a free accessory pin there. If all else fails, you can tap the ignition harness... Please note that using a switched source like the ignition harness or fuse box sometimes can result in a turn on thump or pop...

yeah.. i'm a noob...

i just thought...

if ur hooking up an aftermarket head... using a harness...

the radio harness would have the power ant lead...

so i thought u just connect it to the power ant lead, for remote turn on...

then again.. i don't know much bout gms... or anything really

No, when hooking up an aftermarket head unit, you would use the "remote turn on" lead. The power antenna lead is only active when the radio is on.

But for fvcks sake, he's hooking up a converter to a stock head unit!!!

Wire it to the 2nd ign. output on the fuse box, or connect it to the oem radio harnesses acc. lead, or as has been mentioned to an oem amp turn on lead, if the HU has one. 94
