Default 88 vs 91 booster

alright so i had to replace my 91 si booster/master cylinder. I bought a 91 master cylinder/booster off ebay and when i took it out i realized it was an 88-89 booster/cylinder. I put it on anyways because my 91 was so messed up i couldnt really wait. Well now i realized that my brakes are really soft and def does not feel firm like my old 91 was. Im sure its because it was intended for 2 disc and 2 drums instead of 4 disc. So i finally found another 91 master cylinder what difference would it make if i only swap out the master cylinder and use the 88 booster?

so if i want more "performance" i would go to a 90-91 ex 4 door civic? rather then my oem 7/8 si ?

and thx for the thread i didnt know the booster would create more travel.

one more question.

my old master cylinder/booster was leaking or well not leaking but my pedal slowly pressed all teh way down then i had to reengage for my brakes to work again.

which part does that have to do with? the booster or cylinder?

because i still have my old booster i could buy the new cylinder and use my old booster.

it was the master cylinder, not the booster. you just needed to replace the MC.

however, it COULD have damaged the booster, but probably not. usually the MC just has an internal leak and you dont lose any fluid, but sometimes it does leak into the booster. but even then, its usually fine. check it yourself.
