i just replaced my alt and comp belt. i installed the belts with a 1/4 in deflection just like the haynes manual suggests. now, when i first start the car up, i get a quick chirp of the belts. after that quick chirp its gone tho, and i dont hear from it again. just on the initial start ups. should i tighten up the belts a little more?

 

mine does it all the time, only the alt belt on there, has been for atleast 6months,
No problems with it, only does it on cold starts.

 

i would tighten it more just a tad
