if i put a skunk2 or edelbrock intake manifold on a stock d16z6 would it gain power or lose power? i have a guy saying that it would lose power because its to much air for that little motor...someone help me

I assume it would shift the powerband higher, so you might lose a little torque. Because your engine is stock I would recommend a D16y8 manifold for simplicity. The S2 hits the proportioning valve in the EG chassis, and people have seen power gains with the y8 mani on a z6.
I have the S2 Pro Series manifold on my D17Z6 build, and it seems to work well, but I'm boosted too.

It's difficult to say how exactly it's going to affect the power in a plus or minus sense, but I agree with the post above that it is going to work with a different powerband.
On a stock D16, my guess is that it's going to lose some torque and maybe pick up a pony or two in the top end.

for d-series to gain power, you have to tear them apart and build them up.
either that or boost.

this is true
the s2 micht give you some gains but the edelbrock is too much for a stocker

most of those are made for higher rpm power gains not so much lower, so yes you should loose lower end power to gain higher end power.
and i also sendond the useage of built up high compression d series or d series with turbo, you need something that will push and pull the air ie: high compression pistons, or turbo
