i have an eg with gsr swap...msd coil and msd ign box... i was driving home and it started bogging out and then finally just shut off..wont start..tried replacing distrib cap and rotor..didnt work..im getting fire from my msd coil but no spark in the plugs? could my msd ign be bad???or distrib?? maybe my coil is sending strong enough spark??please help..

 

it probably has nothing to do with the dist. sound like your main relay went out.
is your fuel pump priming? can you hear it?

 

might sound like a stupid question but how much gas do you have?

he's saying he has no spark at the plugs...that doesn't have anything to do with fuel.

it's most likely a bad ignitor

how can i test my msd ignt system..its tied into the coil pack right?? so wouldnt it be working if my coil is getting spark?? thanks for all of your help...

try taking out the msd system and run stock distributor system and see if it starts. If it does... there's probably something wrong with the MSD system.

Yeah that sounds good. Try it

 

of course make sure the dizzy that you use is a known good one. But most likely the MSD is your culprit.

 

Honestly, I don't see why people at stock-ish hp levels use that ****. The stock Honda ignition is good up to like 250hp.

MSD is total ****, mine took a **** on the highway and as I was bogging out in the right lane I knew what it was right away. Get rid of that ****

 

Its your MSD coil man same thing happened to me change the COIL.

 

yeah bro try the ignition coill... go to a junkyard and find a coill.. or just buy one.. and put it in.. if it works.. keep it. if thats not it. take it back

 

Take that msd crap off . Its either coil or igniter.

 

so many threads saying that the MSD coil sucks ***, and i doubt that the stock dizzy stops being effective at 250hp...i think theres plenty more room to go

 

yeah bro.. ive got a story to tell you!

i was driving home well drivin around in a really bad storm, was pouring down rainin went through foot puddles , well im driving and all of a sudeen my car bogged down and then died.. middle of the storm. left it in a neighboor hood i didnt know.paid for it to get towed back.. then i finally was thinking bout it... it was the ignition coil.. just do what i told you bro. it is most likley your problem

 

I dont see why so many people get msd with bolt ons. It's probably that cool transparent red dizzy cover.
