Default Nakamichi h/u+amp???

I've been thinking of upgrading...I love the look of their stuff and they seem pretty HQ. Anyone have any experience w/them? I want the CD-300 and their lower end 4 channel amp.

check out the clarion stuff too. they have 24 bit d/a convertors and the cd 300 has a 1 bit d/a convertor. I love the nakamichi stuff though. Very classy.

If you purchaes there units, make sure you go thru a dealer. It will save you in the long run. Not off of e-bay.

Just cause it's a 24bit d/a convertor doesn't mean that it's better than the 1bit.

My store currently carries excelon, alpine, pio premier etc and the eclipse 1bit (at least from their 2005 models) blows away excelon's 24 bit.

You can talk techie all you want, but if something sounds better then it sounds better

^^^^ I agree, I HATE Kenwood!!!! The product looks cheap and performs just as bad. Just my 2 cents. Nakamichi products are great. I have installed a few HU and if I didn't have and Alpine I would more than likely heave a Nakamichi or Pioneer head unit.

I have sold plenty of great sounding systems with kenwood excelon's as the source. Are they the best out there? No. Are they good for the price? Absolutely.

Of course if I had my first choice my stereo would probably run about 5-10grand @ cost, but I ain't a balla

I know what you are saying a_s_ol_. Kenwood just would be probably the last HU I would put in my car. I have done a few systems with Kenwood HU and they sound good but I just cant get past their appearance and the stupid problems with the flip face mechanism. I have had bad experiences with them and thats why I dont recommend them to people.
