What's going on? This groove is cut into my rotor, running equidistant from the center of the rotor. I only noticed it recently along with a bit of light squealing from my pads.

Yeah, it looks as if there might have been some some sand or little pebble that might have gotten stuck to the brake pad, and created that...Is there any warpping anywhere else...

Doesn't seem like it. Would the rears even wobble if there was any warping?

Maybe it's trying to tell me something. I upgraded the fronts to ultimates, but the rears remained stock. Maybe it's time to upgrade the rears as well.

Drilled rotors have alot of problem like that, they also crack...I stick to just slotted..When the rotor warps it does kind of wobble abit...And a warped rotor is a bad rotor

Yeah I see a crack too. This is why I will be sticking to brembo blanks.

It looks like a superficial crack. Beyond the surface, I don't see any further cracking.

These rotors were on the car when I bought them, so I figure I'll replace them with Autozone rotors sometime in the near future.

On drilled rotors the cracking happens along the drilled holes. To OP that doesnt look that bad, but if your worried about it you can always buy new blanks from Autozone until you save up for the ones you want.

Rotors do NOT warp from normal or hard braking. Thickness variations do NOT = warped. This is one of the most common misconceptions. Good reading: http://www.stoptech.com/tech_i...shtml#

As with anything, it is very hard to tell with a pic. Unless you can really see it for yourself I am going to say you are looking at the imprint/outline of the end of the pad. These are the rears right? Rears only account for ~20% of your braking, so they don't do a whole hell of a lot. But when you heat them up with some hard braking or high speeds then pull in to park you set the parking brake that clamps the rear pads to the rotor. This will tend to "bake" some of the pad material onto the surface.

If it is really a crack, then "ok". Obviously, replace it when possible.
