Default question on my newly boosted b18c5 swappp....

sry for myhorrid typing, I copied this from an e-mail to my tuner...

......We lenghtened the actuator to try and turn down the boost, idk if it
worked. I noticed that when I start tohave the car revving high inboost it
almost like backfires and doesn't wanna' go anymore... is this due to my
exhaust piping being so small and liek restricting it and can't keep
taking all the extra pressure? And could this be kinda eliminated untilI
cana fford to hav new exhaust piping done up if I turb down the boost even
more? And if I play withthe FPR and let off a lil pressure, will this
screw up the tune?.......

I have pretty much stock sized, but custom fabbed piping for my exhaust.
99 hatch
Greddy tod5h-18g snail was hitting 10+ pounds of boost, so I wanted to get that down

etc... yeah I know this is real vague, just wondering what you think?

I dont think this has anything to do with the exhaust. It sounds like its all tune related.

sounds like your using more boost that the map likes to be seeing very possibly could be tuning also

Detonating maybe? What kind of management are you running? Sounds to me like your map sensor is reading too much pressure than it can handle, your probably throwing a code too when this happens right? You either need a missing link or some good managment would be better.

tuned w/ crome by AMS tuning. Will kno how much boost when I get the gauge today, will extend wastegate to see if that helps when I leave work today. Also, anyone know why a tach randomly goes out? lol

sounds tune related, either fuel loading up or going lean.

what do the plugs look like? how old is the ignition system, could just have a crapping out set of plug wires

does it feel like an ignition cut? Sounds like possible spark blowout.
