92 Prelude A/C Problem
The A/C in my 92 prelude works sporadically. When it does work, it works like a champ. It only works once in a great while now. When I first bought it four years ago, it would stop working once in a while, now it only works once in a while. I went to a general mechanic. He said it might be my compressor clutch and to tap it while the A/C is on to see if it kicks in. Where is the compressor clutch?
If that isn't it, what might the problem be? He didn't think it was a freon problem since it does work very well when it does come on.

First thing I would do is resolder the connections on the climate control unit. VERY common issue with 4th Gens.
I am willing to bet that's the problem.

He's talking about the actual a/c, fan, heater control unit in the cabin - if search would decide to cooperate, I made a thread a few months ago that explains how.

Search isn't working for me either. If you run onto it, would you do me a favor and repost it? Thanks.
Oh, and get this. A month ago, a sparkplug blew right out. It must have worked its way out because all of the threads were still intact. We just screwed it back in. Crazy eh?

Nope, still have no idea where the compressor clutch is. I am going to try taking out the Climate Control Unit, but I would like to give the compressor clutch a tap first, make sure the relay hasn't fried.

Ah, perhaps I am confused then. I am looking for the relay switch that turns the magnetic clutch on and off. Is it the one showed in the picture above, or is there one outside the clutch.
Again, thanks to all of you for your help and patience.

Update:
It was the A/C relay, 4-pin Mitsuba RC-2201. This relay is located just behind the drivers side headlamp, bolted to the fender. It is paired with the radiator fan relay. I am not sure which one is the compressor relay, but I know it is one of the two.
