Default strange climate control problem

My climate control is electronic in my 91 integra. For a while my a/c button would not light up. For some reason it does now. The buttons do not light up unless I mash them in with force using my thumb. Then they actually work (for example changing from blowing in the face to on the windshield). Sometimes when I turn off the car one of those green lights will still be on.

Has anyone had similar problems? This seems pretty strange to me. Maybe it's time to get a new climate control unit?

Thanks

Nick

my 92 integra has the same problem. I've wondered before it was supposed to be like that too.

interesting. but your climate control still works fine? Mine seems to work ok when I press hard on it, but I hate that. Oh and for some weird reason the fan intensity **** won't turn all the way to the off position anymore (?). Strangest thing.

Oh and it ONLY blows when it's turned to the highest setting, and doesn't blow at all on any other setting. Could that be because my a/c compressor is not hooked up?

IS there anyone in the d/fw area that is good with the a/c systems in DA's? I can pay for your time, of course. I really need to get a/c going in this weather.

well i went to g2ic dot com and found an article that might help others who may have the same problem. it's basically a tech article on re-soldering broke/loose connection in the climate control.

that's probably the problem i'm having, it says that over time the electrical contacts break from use. gee it's too bad that even after i fix this, i'll still have NO A/freakinC o well hope this helps someone.

my 88 crx si did that. i think it is kinda normal wear and tar on the buttons... you push the button in to something and after a time the something or the back of the button starts to wear out.
