its most likely the crappy basemap in the chipped ecu causing a rich condition and unburnt fuel to leave the black residue on your bumper.

Change most "likely" to most "certainly".

Tuning doesn't mean chipping your ecu. Get it tuned properly on a dyno.

The soot isn't your problem. Not achieving your potential performance is.

You probably have vtec set way low causing wayyy to much fuel to be dumped in.

Im not sure as to how that would affect it?
but anyways ive contacted phearable several times and stated that the basemap is fine- I would get it dyno tuned but at the end of summer its getting turbod so i dont see the point in that even though i know how much power im loosing r

if the car idles on a basemap its considered fine. i dont know a single programmer that doesnt add fuel and take timing from a basemap. if you know its not tuned then why make a thread asking whats wrong??? seems you already know the answer.

I was pretty sure it was that but was asking if there could be anything else, because after contacting phearable several times he was insisting it was the fuel pressure- Its obviously not so i guess its back to the chip- Is there any tuners that could just get me a chip of a stock p30 program so the car will lean out a little bit- would it be ok to run that even though i have i/h/e and CTR cams?

doesnt matter if its rich enough could have washed the cylinders resulting in bad rings

Maybe ur TPS sensor dumping too much fuel, is ur throttle adjusted properly? My car used to burble like u described. It was my cams not being lined up at TDC. Also my rotor in my dist. was corroded as hell. Now my car is quiet and no burbleling

to tell you the truth a stock P30 map isnt the answer. ALL .bins react differantly in every car, your particular tb and all associated sensors are calibrated for the stock computer (which varies slightly between every p30 or whatever) spend $150-200 on a tune if you really have spent the money to rebuild the block w/ ctr cams and all why run on a basemap, and wonder why it smokes??? fuel pressure doesnt play a huge role unless you are making drastic changes, keep it under 40psi and you should be ok.

yea, my mileage is way better. So far i've gotten like 170-180 miles on a half tank of gas.

look in the tuner directory somewhere around here. i say $150-200, but it all depends on how well you want the tune, and who does it.
