Default tranny noise before warm up

A few weeks ago, I installed quaife lsd, clutchmaster stage 3, and fidanza fw. I filled the tranny up with motul 90pa.

Everything was ok and shift has been and still is smooth. Just that before warm up. If I rev up the motor, I hear this almost like grinding sound. Sorta like something rattling. But after sometime it goes away.

Has anyone experience this before? I can't seen to find the exact problem...

if its a very light grind almost like a rubbing then most likely its your throw out bearing, did you install a new one? My buddies delsol we put the new one that came with his clutch masters stage 4 and after about 1500 miles it made noise, the warmer it gets the less you hear it. some cars are opposite

Also did you personally install the quaife?? If so did you check your bearings on all the shafts, and i would hope you installed new bearings on the LSD and not resuse the old ones right?

If you installed the quaife your self what did you use to do the bearings? believe it or not these damn things are fragile when installing and if not done properly will fall apart after a good 100 miles or so. had that hapen to another friend of mine and it chewed up the tranny case where the bearings sits.

Also the noise could be the bearing in the intermediate shaft, ive had one of those go bad on me and at all different times and temps it owuld make noise.

Hope that can start you in the rigth direction on trying to figure this noise out

yea. its light, and only if i rev it up high when its not warm yet.

yea. i installed the quaife. new cm throw out bearing, and 2 new bears when i installed lsd.

i have so little time, and i took my time doing this. of course with my luck, this happens... but is it possible the fluid i am using is too thick?

thanks for helping me. ^__^

Yeah they take light oil, either use honda manual trans fluid, some over the couter 10w30, reline MTL, or gm syncromesh

I personally use the REDLINE MTL and love it. The syncros mech together alot beter so you will have alot less grind when shifting fast/hard.

Yeah, these transmissions are designed to run with a leghter weight oil, heavy gear lubes dont work well. You can even go with a straight 30weigth oil in the summer and then a 5w30 or 10w30 in the winter, depends how cold your climate gets

I flushed the tranny fluid 2 times to make sure motul is out, and before warm up, it still makes that rattling noise. but it goes away after warm up. Any other ideas?

If I remember right the findanza flywheel is aluminum right. There were many issues with the fw and the starter on the B series motors. The gears did not align right and had grinding issues. That is the reason why I went with the Exedy chromoly flywheel. This might be part of your problem Wen.

the fw is ok. i think it might be one of the bearings, since once it warms up, the noise is gone. thanks for the info. never knew about it. findaza is suppose to be good, that is some new info i will keep in mind.

any other ideas? tests i can run? i want to know what it can be before i pull the tranny again.

i think this issue is in the wrong forum... but anyways... i had the same problem... it was the bearings inside my trans, there are about 4 of them i believe... U sure its coming from ur tranny??? try this, at idle depress ur clutch pedal in n out and listen for to hear if the sound changes at all... or if it goes away when u step on the clutch pedal...

Does the noise occur when in neutral with the clutch pedal out, or when the clutch pedal is pressed in?

If it does it when the clutch is pressed in then its not the transmission as its not engaged. Id say pilot or throw out bearing.
