Default HELP! skirting oil from PCV system

Ok guys setup is as follows: b16a with t3 super60 on 12psi bone stock motor. I just recently noticed that the car was smoking from engine bay. Checked it out, and oil was being squirted everywhere from the top of the pcv box behind the block and below the IM. there is a small hole in the top of it that use to go through the IM and to the top of the IM just right of the throttle body. My boy said this leak was caused by blow by and it is the block venting itself. What should i do?

did you just have that port open? I run mine with just a breather filter on top of that port where the pcv valve used to go to. You should never leave that open cause crap can get in your oil. Mine runs just fine like this but if you have excessive blowby your gonna need to setup a system to properly evacuate the crankcase pressure.

i like the breather idea..... dumb ? here but interesting theory. Wat if i used like 3ply ducttape, and taped over the hole, and then poked holes in it to relieve the pressure but reduce oil squirting out?

well i think the breather would stop the oil from squirting out and will still let the pressure out. Give it a try...if it doesn't work than do the catchcan setup.

if you got that much blowby then look into doing a leakdown test.

a little bit of leaking is normal, but can you see a lot of smoke shooting out of there at idle?

yeah i can actually but i thought it was smoke coming from the burning oil from on top of the exhoust since the oil is droping on the exhoust. what does alot of smoke from the PCV hole mean? bad rings?

Yea i would do a leak down test that sounds like a lot of oil your dealing with. A good way to check if you getting blow by caused by bad piston rings/lands is pull your oil cap off while the car is at idle and if smoke comes out the oil filler port you have a problem there should only be air with some pressure coming out, not smoke vapors from the bottom of the crankcase.

Thats very dumb to drive your car hard before a rebuild. you want as close to a well running engine as possible before you build.

this is true, kinda rediculous that this motor is giving way already, especially with it only making about 250 wheel on a decent tune...

You are an idiot, and im Really Tired Of telling you YOU ARE AN IDIOT

Plain and simple just because you have a decent tune, even a decent setup, does not mean a stock motor with lots of miles on it, will not have PROBLEMS

spiking a few times upwards of 15-18 psi was not smart

good luck my son, dont worry i wont charge you much to build a new one
