N/A motor compression question

Default N/A motor compression question

ok im thnikin about goin high compression on my second H22 motor i wanna do pretty high but whats the highest i can go without have to put valve reliefs on the pistons ????? also what company should i go with i was gonna go with CP.Suggestions are welcomed on building this motor

you are always gonna have valve reliefs, its just the dome that will get taller. they can be made for any compression ratio you want. I like Wiseco pistons.

CP Pistons are a good choice. Check out: http://www.laskeyracing.com/shop/cppistons.htm

The highest CR for street use should be between 12-13:1. And thats pushing it, IMO. It really depends on what octane gas is available to you and how good your tuner is.

What tuning program do you plan to use? Just curious.

i was gonna run chrome seem to be a good company plus i have some friends who are damn good with it. Im building a boost h22 right now and im kinda new to the N/A thing i got wiseco right now 9:1 but i have another h22 i wanna do and put into a hatch

Why not look into the MAHLE pistons.. dont they make a 11.5CR piston for the H22... use H23 rods and crank and have lots more CR...

9:1 is good for a hatch. Generally speaking 11.5:1 is very safe for the street. JD3 went with 12.0:1 on pump gas
