I broke my vtec
it is a sad day, my vtec isnt working
the car was very warm, perfect oil level, no CEL's
last time I hit vtec before i did my drivers side wire tuck (which I dont think would affect the wiring to the vtec) it hit hard in a 1st gear pull, but as i put the clutch in and let the motor rev down I heard a loud thump
do you think I could have broken my vtec solenoid?
and which wires do I use to test the solenoid to make sure it still pops open?

well if you hit vtec hard enough, it will eventually break. vtecs dont stand up to abuse very well. i recommend being gentle to the replacement vtec.
ahaha thats funny, r u serious u broke the vtec? i never knew vtec can break, replace ur vtec solinoid mayb or check ur spark plugs like wat qfast said, and have u replaced your oil?
everything is working just fine, speed sensor, new plugs, new plug wires, new oil, the only thing i changed since the last time it wirked was the plug wires because the old ones were all goofed up
I have no clue why it isnt working, i didnt think it could break either, its pretty gay

Gay indeed, hopefully for you, it's just the soleniod. Try that and let us know if you fixed it. Ha, his vtec broke. I know, it's not cool but it sounds funny.

its actually called the spool solenoid.
replace your spool solenoid, or take it off and brake clean it, they have little screens for pick up, clean it out and give it a shot.

the solenoid still clicks, then i went to test it the pin practically fell out of the plug
but there was no CEL?
anyone think it could have not been connected properly but still gotten voltage so there was no cel, but was not strong enough to make the solenoid pop open?

I thought that both wires would throw a CEL if they were disconnected or malfunctioning

i did the drivers side, so it should not affect the wiring for the vtec, I only tucked the headlight wires
are there any wires related to the vtec ones on the drivers side?

It sounds like your engine was pinging and the knock sensor is causing the ECU to run in limp mode w/ no vtec. Are you running the correct octane of gas for a GSR.?

91 octane with injector cleaner, the gas is a little old
the car has no knock sensor, chiped p28 and i have a vafc
there was no pinging at all, ran like a champ
