Is it possible for a N/A prelude H22a with just i/h/e and VAFC to get/messups a valve guide after 44K miles? No major down shifting or hitting the rev limiter. Do these things go bad after a while?

 

u would only mess up a valve guide if u bend a valve

 

Ok I took out all my spark plugs and in cylinder #4 the plug was all black with carbon build up really bad. and there was oil all over the plug. What else could be worng? I haven't done a compression test yet. But is there is seal or gasket I could of blown????

 

do i compression test to see what numbers u get and a leakdown test to see where the culprit is...could be a number of factors and the leakdown test helps u narrow it down
