Default XS Power turbo kit

alright...ive been seraching on turbo kits n i found out that xs power makes dirt cheap kits for D and B series for 1000 bucks...ive heard of xs power building some very fast cars n on tv building up a skyline...but are their turbo kits bad because of how cheap they are or is this an ok reliable kit for just up to like 10psi?

From what i've been reading the only thing junk about them are the manifolds are prone to cracking. Just a little reinforcement and it should be all good

The manifolds are complete garbage and the turbos have been getting alot better but still a bit of a gamble.Your best bet is to source a good quality used manifold, buy XS power/SSauto wastegate, blow off and there bar and plate intercooler kit with pipes and buy a good turbo. You will spend a little more say $1200-1500 but that will get you a solid kit that will be reliable and make good power.I have installed and used alot of there wastegates,BOV's etc and have never had a single problem to date.Personally i have never seen one of there turbo's fail [used 3] but there is alot of stories out there so who knows.

When it comes to something like the life of your motor.. why not use something a little more proven?.. it's worth it to save up the extra..

i know 2 people that have gotten that kit and they told me jus to get a better manifold....n they have 2 year warranties on their turbos so i know it would atleast work for 2 years....n its not going on a gsr or b16, its either gonna go on a soch vtec or doch zc which are not dat expensive so if it blows im not loosing 2500 bucks, more like 500....

2 year warranty does not mean it'll work for at least two years.
Not knocking their turbos because I have seen alot of success with the turbos, and nothing but failure out of the manifolds. The question with the mani is not if it will break/crack, it when.
The motor doesn't matter, the same manifold quality applies to them both. The mani will break before the motor "blows"; and if the motor blows you have bigger issues than just what "brand" turbo to buy/run.

No OBX, you can get many different manifolds...don't get an OBX either
