Default what is the most voltage you can put to a civic

I want to see if anyone knows this b/c I sure don't. What is the most voltage you can run into a 1996 honda civic dx. Is it over 16 volts or under like 15.5 or 15.8vdc? I don't know what the computer can take and what it can't and I'm about to run a 14 volt bank with rests near 16 volts. Can anyone advise??

anything more than 16V and you will start having strange problems. 18V bulbs start popping.
14.2-14.7 is a good high side of the operation of a car.

the alternator will not charge anything more than the stock voltage battery. in fact it may discharge it or simply blow the regulator in the alternator.

you'll burn out bulbs quicker and may cause sensors to go out quicker than normal. (O2 for instance)
But the ECU should handle 16, but 16.5 I'd be worried about.

and like I said before, you alternator will be worthless.
