Viper 791 xv problem
I got my viper 79xv installed. i wouldnt say its a professional job, but i paid someone to do it. anyways they did not hook up the remote start on my manual teg(wich i understand). but for some reason my status led blinks when the alarm is not armed? why is this? the book says that once ignition is turned on it will reset. but that doesnt seem to work? anyone know what the problem is? something forget to get hooked up?

Hook that up and all will be good.
Either that, or it's in valet mode....</TD></TR></TABLE> No, your right the first time, [I bet] a common problem when you do not hook up the remote start, the ign. output wire, [for remote start] is also ign. input for the alarm, the yellow wire in the ribbon cable connecting the main unit to the relay satellite box needs to be connected to a "true" ign. source, valet override will also work.

</TD></TR></TABLE> There should be 2 switches, one push-button valet switch and a on/off toggle switch, [although that one is not needed if the remote start is not hooked up].
If you look at the ribbon cable, [7 wires] that would run from the main unit to the relay satellite, [probably not installed] you will see a yellow wire, it has to be connected to a "true" ign. source, [if relay satellite is not installed and wired].
It should have been done at the shop.

Yes that is correct, the black/yellow ign. harness wire.
