Compression test result
Whats up peeps. I just ran a compression test. Here are my numbers. Im running a completely stock B16A3 with 238 387 miles on it. How do these numbers look? I think they are a little low. How high would the psi be when this engine was brand new? 210?
Please keep any flaming for yourselves, I just want to know if these numbers are okay for my engine with the miles it has. Thank you.
Cyl 4 - 170
Cyl 3 - 180
Cyl 2 - 165
Cyl 1 - 165

doesnt look to bad to me. did you do it with the throttle wide open?
our B16's we sell usualy have 200-210.
my own B18C has 180-190 across all 4 cylinder and runs perfect.

yup it was wide open. Im thinking these numbers are a little low because it has such high miles.

i would do a leak down test. that might tell you where your loosing a bit of compression.
your valves might not be closing 100%. they are probably covered in carbon.

so then would it be a good idea to run some seafoam to clean out the combustion chambers or do you think these # are too low and carbon is holding those numbers up?
