93 sol start problem
93 Del sol with a stock D16Z6. After driving around and shutting it off it takes abnormally long to restart the vehicle. After I get it to restart it runs at low idle and sounds like its missing until you give it throttle. Runs and drives fine after that and almost never does this cold. Checked for fuel and spark, main relay is clicking, fuel pump engages, changed plugs. Any suggestions are helpful.
have you checked your starter? two bolts and it's lose. that could be your problem. also if your cap & rotor hasn't been changed since you purchased the car then it would be a good idea to do so.
Starter is good cranks fast and long. As far as the cap and rotor haven't changed those out yet money is a little tight but they seem in good condition.
maybe from the outside your rotor and cap may look good, but do remove it and look at the contact areas. Any corrosion? Replace with new parts from Honda (never worry about it again). I did mine and it helped bring back my idle and my wrx sound that would happen every so often. Might wanna buy new wires or/and plugs too.
plugs were replaced and cap and rotor will be shortly. not tryin to jump the gun but anyone wanna suggest the ICM? took off the cap to look for corrosion and cracks and came across some "mickey mouse" coil job. looks like previous owner couldn't get the wires off and cut them then re-spliced back together. solid blue wire appears to be burnt. any tests besides the Haynes manual?
