Hey guys. I just sold my 92 lude to upgrade to a 99 lude with 66,000 miles on it.. I used to work in a body shop so I knew what to look for as far as wrecks ... from what I get out of it.. majority of the bodyparts still carry the honda vin number on them. except the front. it seems the front end radiator support was in a wreck.. everything drives and runs perfect except one thing

When I first start the car and put it in first or lets say reverse.. right as I let out the clutch and start pushing on the gas. I hear this sort of buzzing. almost like a priming sound... like something is being pumped and then it stops.. would anyone know what is causing this noise. it only happens during the first couple of seconds after I start to release the clutch after I have started the car for the first time.. after that it won't do it... is it pushing liquid through the tranny or what? any clue would be great.. thanks

 

That's your ABS ramping up. It's normal.

yea when it happens my radio kinda cuts out it freaked me out the first couple of times.

 

its normal but the radio should nto cut out... well at least the prelude's I have had did not...

 

ive neve heard of abs ramping up.. im pretty sure that noise you hear is your evaporartive system purging..

 

It's definitely his ABS self testing. It happens within about the first 10-20 feet you drive everytime you start the car. It's also a good sign that your ABS is running correctly.

 

ohh, my bad, i skipped a few lines and didnt notice him say that its while hes driving..

i used to hear my car make a buzzing sound all the time when its parked.. and when i worked on my car, but ever since i removed my evap system, the noise stopped
