Default How will a cat-back exhaust sound?

Im getting a catback exhaust installed on my civic tomorrow, how do they tend to sound, they are replacing stock pipe with a 2.25 inch pipe, and a TSR muffler which isn't too loud. Also how will it affect HP?

Thats easy, It wont. not on our crappy d17a2 motors.

On an EM2, if the stock header and b-bipe stay OEM, a catback exhaust will tend to not sound too ricey.

Start getting into deleting the cat, headers, and large mufflers, and itll sound like a high pitched fart. Heres some pics of my Thermal R&D catback. Very crisp, clear, and non-raspy.

Hope that helps.

Wish I had a camera with sound. Sounds clean. Not ricey at all. Crisp, tight, but yet with a hint of loudness, similar to the APEXi WS2.

Ill find a link of the APEXi and post it.

EDIT Click Here for APEXi WS2 sound clip

About the same as that. not too raspy, its throaty and sounds good at highway and cruising speeds.

im going to a mechanic who can do it for 175, im leaving a quiet muffler on, it snot stock its racing but its not loud, He is just gonna hook up a 2.25 inch pipe from the cat back with stock manifold, im leaving the resonator on etc. i think it will sound good, not too ricey, yet not too low droning

If youre leaving the resonator on, itll be just an axle back.

But yeah, stock resonator, itll sound ok.

Not loud at all though usually

well the pipe will come from the cat to the resonator and go to the muffler, He said it would be a cat-back, maybe they will take the resonator off, i dont know, but stock manifold and good muffler

+nah its not a ricey muffler, i just hate that small stock pipe and then it goes to a nice chrome muffler, it aint right. Bigger pipe will help make it louder and sporty, at least i think lol, btw i have a K&N FIPK
