Installing eagle rods...what color rod bearings to get?
wassup all? I'm intsalling some eagle rods in d16y8 SOHC VTEC and was wondering since these rods are aftermarket and have no bearing designations on them (like the stock ones do) what color should i order from Honda? If you've ran into this problem before (SOHC or DOHC they all use the colored bearing system) please share on what u did that worked. I'm thinking of just ordering the stock sizes and use those. Thanks for your help
you have to check number at your block(bottom of your block) and your number or some thing like A,B,C(not sure)of your crank. you have to math it up to get all color.
he meant that all eagle rods are a #3 size (big end bore) on your stock rods there is a # stamped on the side, half is on the rod the other half is on the cap. take the codes off the crank a,b,c,d and get the corosponding bearings for a #3 rod.
the h22 and b16 rods are size 2. the rest are supposed to be size 3.
Apparently they are always a little bit off though.
I bought bearings as if they were 3s. We'll see what happens, I may have bought myself 8 bearing-shaped paperweights...
