I recently bought a 96 civic LX, and i found when i try and roll down any of the windows, i have to open the doors to a certain angle to get the windows to go up/down, although sometimes i can randomly roll them up/down with the door in its regular closed position, someone please help a brotha out.

 

the wires that go into the door are probably cracked and fucked... Take it apart, see where they're fucked up :-\

 

if the motor is not running when you try do the window then..
sounds like a wire is not connected correctly through the connection on the door. maybe when you have it at the angle it works, you are pressing the wires together again. i would open up where the wires go from the door to the rest of the car and see if your wires are good.
but if the motor sounds like it is running when you try to put them down then i have no clue.

beat me to it... damn me for being writerly...

 

There is a peice of plastic that holds the wires away from each other, it could be broken and the wires could be grinding against each other. Take it apart, check it out, maybe clean it up real good. Then see how it works
