Temp Gauge
Hello all. Here’s a strange problem that I need to fix. My temp gauge runs around the ¾ mark after I’ve been driving for a while. If I turn the heater controls on hot, without the heater actually being on, the temp gauge goes down. If I move the heater controls to cool, again with the heater off, the temp gauge goes up. I’ve flushed the coolant, and changed the thermostat and radiator cap. There’s no sludge in the overfill container and no coolant in the oil. As of right now, I do not think I’m loosing coolant, I have not had to fill the radiator. The radiator fan does come on by itself but I’m not sure how often it does come on. The radiator fan should turn on shortly after the car is started. I’ve only heard the fan when sitting at a stop light. I’m only guessing I need a new sensor/switch. There’s three that could need changing. Any suggestion?
The ECT Switch is located next to the thermostat and the other two are located next to the water outlet cover for the upper radiator hose.
