Default 97 civic stock 6 disc cd changer problems .. all speakers do not work when playing a cd

ok guys i just bought a 97 ex coupe .. and it came w/ a factory honda 6 disc cd changer .. the head unit in the car is just a radio, no tape deck, or cd slot

the problem is , whenever i play a cd, most of the time only my left front speakers will work, the right ones will work, but they would be very low, now when the radio is playing, everything is perfect, but its only cds, and sometimes on cds the volume will even go really low throughout the car.. any idea what is wrong or how i can fix this

a guy at a shop told me the radio was going and to buy a new headunit, but i felt like he was just trying to sell me something .. so if you guys could help me out that would be great

You need to look into a new radio, The one you have is on its way out. The shop guy is correct with his advice.

you can use that radio from your other car if you are on a budget. But I would opt for a aftermarket, Way better sound, mp3 and wma, data. On most models. remote control. The list goes on.

most newer decks have plugs where you can listen to your ipod, with much much much much much better sound quality than that tape deck. and trust me, if you're going off to college with your car, you want that new deck. plus you should have ample funds from graduation money

some aftermarket wiring harness kits for the 96-98 come with a security bypass... at least mine came with something like that, and i didn't lose my dome light or keyless...
