Default 1st to 2nd shift, rev limiter activating?!?

Not sure why but if I accel to 5500rpm(redline is about 6200) in 1st and put it in 2nd the car acts like the rev limiter is activating for a few. If I leave the car in Drive and "punch it" she shifts at about 5750. I'm not sure if the mods I know about are confusing the computer or not. I know about the AEM CAI, Accel wires, and trhe reactive muffler. The rest of the mods I know about are for the suspension and the tires are VERY close to the original diameter. The car is a 99 4door auto with the F23.

Correct me if I'm wrong but your computer forces an early upshift (before redline) in first gear. It imposes a new rev limiter, basically. Nothing to do with your mods.

But if I leave it in 1st the rev limit doesn't start until 6200, its when I shift to 2nd from 1st at 5500 or more that it gets this other rev limit action going.

Hmmm. Are you sure you've got the gas pedal all the way on the floor? Heh.
I will have to experiment with my dad's 98 auto. AFAIK, it should hit at least 6250 in 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

she "matted" when I have it in drive and seeing how high she'll go before shifting. I've not messed with seeing where 2nd and 3rd shift at. If I'm right, the 98 has the f22, while I have the f23.

Just do it once in awhile with all my car. The 67Lincoln, 72caprice, 79impala, 86Civic, 99CV-r(only computer controlled in list) have all reacted the way I expect. I can take within 400-500 of red and pop in 2nd and they shift. The accord start some rev limiter crap. I would play with it more to see at what rpm it actual starts the limiter thing, but I hate hitting it cause I don't think it can be doing the car any good when it start that crap.
